Find experts on niche subjects. Identify cross-disciplinary synergies. Contact researchers opt-in for consulting and patent collaborations. Months of scouting compressed into hours.
Expert discovery ยท Consulting marketplace ยท Patent matchmaking ยท TheForge B2B
Innovation departments spend months scouting for the right academic expertise on niche problems. Scholar[RAG] turns this into a queryable, opt-in marketplace. The talent is already mapped.
Real R&D scenarios where Scholar[RAG] replaces months of scouting with a few hours of querying.
Same goal (find 3 vetted experts on a niche subject), two approaches.
For the gap between knowledge and application.
"The academia/industry gap is not a talent problem. It's a discovery problem. The talent exists. It's just unfindable."โ Scholar[RAG] ยท Industry Mission
The academia/industry gap is not a talent problem. It's a discovery problem. Universities have decades of accumulated expertise. Industry has decades of operational problems. They rarely connect โ not because they shouldn't, but because the discovery infrastructure doesn't exist.
Scholar[RAG] is the active discovery infrastructure. Every researcher who joins becomes findable by problem statement. You search by what you need, not by who you've already heard of.
Your innovation pipeline gets a 10x scouting accelerator. For researchers: real-world problems and meaningful funding find them directly. Win-win, by construction.
Enterprise pricing, seat-based. Includes Scholar Discovery, Cross-RAG queries, Filtered Contact, Research Feeds on subscribed domains. Add-ons for TheForge B2B specsheets and Patent matchmaking. Pricing announced near launch โ accessible for innovation budgets, not enterprise-bloated.
Researchers explicitly opt-in for consulting. Their availability, hourly rate (or "negotiate"), topics, and prior industry partnerships are public. You contact them via Filtered Contact (chatbot pre-screens your inquiry, then routes to them). Scholar[RAG] doesn't intermediate the contract โ you contract directly with the researcher or their institution. We're a discovery layer, not a temp agency.
NDAs and IP arrangements are handled in your direct contract with the researcher. Scholar[RAG] provides discovery and initial routing, but does not see or store your R&D problem statements unless you explicitly use TheForge B2B specsheet generation (which is opt-in, encrypted, scoped to your engagement).
Researchers control what's public, authenticated-only, or private. Some may grant your enterprise access to working papers under NDA โ this happens via direct relationship, not via Scholar[RAG]. We're not gatekeepers; we're connectors.
You can collide your patent's key concepts against the corpus of leading researchers in adjacent fields. The Cross-RAG identifies (a) potential prior art you missed, (b) potential co-inventor candidates, (c) potential licensors of complementary IP. All in one query.
API access is on the roadmap (V5+). For now, results can be exported as PDF / Markdown reports. Long term: webhook into your innovation pipeline tools (Brightidea, Hype, Wellspring), Slack integration for Research Feed digests.
TheForge generates specsheetsfrom a researcher's corpus โ structured technical briefs you can use to evaluate fit for a specific R&D problem. Think of it as a productized version of "asking 5 academics for a written technical opinion." Saves weeks of scoping.
Industry features (marketplace, patent matching, TheForge B2B) are V5+ โ late 2026 / early 2027. Earlier enterprise research partners can join the waitlist below to shape the spec and get priority access.
We're recruiting a small cohort of innovation departments to shape the enterprise features. Tell us about your use case โ we'll reach out for a scoping call.
